THE PANAMA CANAL: TRAILS & TALES

A journey from the Pacific to the Atlantic sounds impressive, in Panama, it's just an hour trip, so the only way of making it unforgettable is on a historical engineering feat like The Panama Canal Railway. The first inter-oceanic railway’s TRACKS, ride right along the Panama Canal (Gatun Lake) through the lush tropical rainforest. This full day tour starts bright and early with 6:00 am pick-ups and breakfast snacks before boarding.

Reaching the Atlantic terminus in Colon, we’ll drive to the San Lorenzo Protected Area where we'll reach the end of the road at a UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Spanish Fortress of San Lorenzo Real de Chagres. There we have the opportunity to explore the rainforest, see wildlife, as well as appreciate the TALES of this rich cultural and historical area that was once a U.S. military base (Fort Sherman). Here can enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the mouth of the Chagres River and the Caribbean Sea before heading to the old U.S. Canal Zone town of Gamboa in Soberania National Park.

Embarking on an outboard engine boat on the Chagres River, we’ll cruise the main navigation channel of the Panama Canal (Gatun Lake) and explore the side channels of the bio-diverse area called the Monkey Islands, an artificial archipelago product of the flooding of Gatun Lake (the largest artificial lake in the world up until 1937).

This tour is the ultimate Panama experience: you will ride on the tracks which laid the foundation of a country built off tales of wealth and glory, as well as cruise and marvel at its natural wonders in the Panama Canal engineering endeavor.
